Charitable Trust

The Establishment

In 2005, under the guardianship of Aorangi Marae and the establishment of a Charitable Trust, we began to evolve an education model to deliver academic, cultural and sporting excellence for rangatahi. This foundational group was instrumental in our formative years. Their collective wisdom and experiences encouraged a sense of optimism and foresight.

Establishment Board

Finding an Identity

In 2015, MANUKURA was officially recognised by the Ministry of Education, as a designated Special Character School (739) under Section 156 of the Education Act. We operated under the governance of an Establishment Board of Trustees appointed by the government and the MANUKURA community.
