Do I have to be Māori to attend MANUKURA?

No you do not, we welcome all interested students and whānau. 

Do I have to know how to speak Māori?

No you do not, we offer Te Reo Māori and Te Reo Rangatira at all Year Levels. Te Reo Māori is a compulsory subject at Year 9 only. 

What level of sport do I need to be at to attend?

Regional representation.

Am I able to have more than one sport that I’m involved in?

Yes one summer code and one winter code. Individual discussions can be had with the Sport Lead to ensure we manage player load, well being and time.

If I’m out of town and boarding, is it up to me to find accommodation or is their help through the school to find that?

We are private boarding only. Ideally whānau find there own boarding options. MANUKURA works hard to assist this process with whānau. 

Am I able to attend later during High School eg: if I left a school to attend MANUKURA at year 10, could I be considered or do I need to start at year 9?

Yes, you can apply at any Year Level. 

Would I still be considered if I missed the cut off date to return my enrolment form?

We encourage you submit your application online to give yourself the best chance for selection. Late enrolments can be submitted and will be responded to.
